COVID 19 has presented untold challenges to all of us in attempting to protect our health and the health of others while at the same time conducting our personal and community affairs. The reality of the pandemic resulted in canceling our South Dakota World Affairs Council spring annual membership meeting and other spring and summer programs. Live public programs and meeting traditionally hosted by SDWAC still are not recommended by CDC so we have chosen to employ virtual means to move forward.
The SDWAC Board of Directors in a virtual meeting has decided to combine our annual membership meeting with our annual participation in the National Committee on US-China Relations sponsored CHINA Town Hall.
In a separate email, we will send a link to join the CHINA Town Hall virtual program beginning at 6:00 pm CST, Tuesday, November 10 and links to register for additional CHINA Town Hall programs on November 12, 16, 17, and 18.
The “Local” CHINA Town Hall presentation and the 2020 Annual Meeting are also virtual. The link to join will be sent separately. Sadly, the virtual meeting will not include our opportunity to mingle, socialize and enjoy food and refreshments.
The Board anticipates that SDWAC programs for the foreseeable future will be virtual programs. We are becoming more aware of how we can take advantage of virtual programming hosted by World Affairs Councils of America and local World Affairs Council across our nation.
